由於當時奧斯卡沒有「最佳動畫」這個獎項，因此迪士尼向來把火力集中在電影原聲帶與主題曲，沒想到讓迪士尼引以為傲的「最佳原創歌曲」，在第 71 屆（1998 年）的奧斯卡入圍名單一揭曉，《花木蘭》的「Reflection」就宣布提前出局，入圍的《埃及王子》「When You Believe」最後順利奪下小金人。
「When You Believe」沒有前奏，惠妮休士頓第一句就唱出一種寂靜之夜、繁星點點的空靈感。整首歌的編曲就如同摩西率領族人渡紅海般的宏偉大氣，歌詞更是闡明只要堅定信念不被動搖，奇蹟就會發生。

其實我覺得這首曲是好,但是那兩位天后當時錄音的狀況並不好,尤其瑪麗亞,她那時候聲音很乾.... 之後他們也有在奧斯卡表演,兩個深刻的印象1.那應該是我看過瑪麗亞最緊張的一次表演了!2.惠妮的那兩顆像是四季乾扁豆XD = ="
的確啊，很可惜當時兩位天后都已經有走下坡的趨勢了，MiMi當時的聲音狀況真的很差... 後來我聽到原聲帶裡另一個版本的when you believe的時候，我反而比較喜歡那個版本耶~~~
當兵的時候就連莒光日的電視節目都有播 引起弟兄熱烈討論...XD
